Business Analyst

This Business Analyst position will support existing IT systems and brings new ideas to help grow and transition to the consulting model of one of the largest banks in the world. This role will work closely with IT, external departments, remote staff, and third-party providers, in order to design, implement, and ensure quality delivery of systems and services.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs process analysis of customer activities to determine process improvement opportunities. Develops and maintains comprehensive documentation of complex business requirements in conjunction with documented support procedures.
  • Analyzes and documents complex business problems and provides recommendations based on research of industry trends, business products, performance analysis for optimal solutions.
  • Educates IT employees on business vision and plan and both IT and business employees on the impact of changes and support, working as a “bridge” between the two.
  • Works with other departments to coordinate interdepartmental activities in order to ensure that IT meets customer expectations. Leads problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient service within company policies.
  • Prepare user documentation and training materials. Provides technical training and user support to business groups. Develops communication plans and related activities.
  • Communicates with both internal and external customers and IT on break/fix status, e.g. vendors, business partners, Information Technology and owning the break/fix ticket from beginning to end resolution. Remedy knowledge preferred.
  • Performs special projects as requested

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Understand and has experience with the usage of remote access application management software such as Citrix.
  • Understand and has exposure to the various technological system components such of application server, database server, FTP server, OLAP server, Analytical server, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of the operating system, database technology such as SQL Server, Oracle and .NET framework. Understand Access Management in relationship to IT security and compliance.
  • Customer service oriented individual who can serve as a liaison between financial business users and technical staff. Basic understanding of financial/banking business and balance sheet.
  • Possess exposure to usage of incident management applications such as Remedy or Clarify
  • Basic understand of balance sheet management practices and application, including interest risk management, ALM (Assets/Liabilities Management), model methodology.
  • Experience in application troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Experienced in SQL query and comfortable with database technologies.
  • QRM experience and ETL and data analysis experience is a big plus.
  • His/her greatest strength is being patient, persistent, and determined.
